CNNH and Bancroft Co-Presentation at CHOP

Kathleen Nace, MT-BC, NMT, Director of Creative Arts programs at CNNH, along with Stacey Belsito, MS OTR/L and Meghan Montgomery, MA CCC-SLP of Bancroft presented at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. They educated the CHOP staff about the connections between Speech, Occupational, and Creative Arts Therapies and the benefits of having a team approach to therapy.

After a didactic presentation that outlined the goals and objectives of each therapy area, as well as ideas for incorporating music therapy, art therapy, and dance/movement therapy into those goals, Kathleen, Stacey, and Megan led two ‘interactive groups’ which encouraged attendees to participate in a mock collaborative group. One group focused on using music, art, and movement in a pre-handwriting group with OT and SLP goals, and the other focused on using music/art/dance in a sensory based group.
